Run, Tara, Run
why do they put rest days in a beginner running schedule?
I will TELL you why.. so you can still walk normally when the run is over...
today was a rest/walk 30 minute day.... I was feeling pretty bulletproof when I left the house so I said to hell with a rest day, I can do my 1 min run/2 min walk schedule 2 days in a row...
and I can.. I did.. but
OH MY GOD my legs hurt now.. so I will definitely be resting tomorrow...
but anyway... went 2.28 miles in ~36 minutes ... Woo go me!
OMG it isn't Monday
Another run today, felt good, went a little farther and a little longer. 2 workouts in a row, finally :) tomorrow will be a rest/walk day and then Fri another run :)
OK! LOL it is Monday again...
The move is complete, and school has started so 2 of my big stress issues have been resolved, so I now intend to get back on this running thing :)
Here is todays run ... 2.16 miles at a run 1 minute /walk 2 minute pace
34 minutes total, 30 minute of actual run/walk the remainder was walking back to the house from the street where i was running.
Monday again
LOL maybe I will make this a biweekly updated blog :)
I have run a few times this month, but in the wake of some discouraging family news my heart hasn't really been in it and it has been easy to come up with reasons not to run. I have managed to overcome some of that by booking a flight to go see said family in a few weeks.
On a brighter note, I called Garmin Tech support today and after sitting on hold for a minimum of 45 minutes probably much longer than that, Justin answered the phone and miraculously resolved the problem I have been having with my
Forerunner 305 since I got it. I had chalked the problem up to user error many times but finally decided there had to be a serious problem with the unit itself. Turns out it was the unit but nothing a super sneaky reboot wouldn't cure, so now I can run intervals without staring at my watch, it politely beeps at me when it is time to switch from run to walk and vice versa, LOL which in turn allowed me to put in a longer run mile wise, cause you can go faster when you can watch where you are going instead of staring at your watch.. Funny that.
Anyway much thanks to Justin since the interval option was one of the main reason I begged for a 305 for Mother's Day.
So again I will try and be more reliable with the updates, but for the most part the mileage on the side should be pretty accurate even if i don't post specifics :)
Monday, Monday...
OK! I am back on track.. I ran 1.06 miles today and ended up feeling really good. It was hot, about 80 but that didn't seem to affect me much, I drank 2 cups of water before and after so I think that worked out well.
