Run, Tara, Run
Saturday!
Well, yesterday was a blah day and i didn't make it out to run, this morning I went down to the Red Cross and donated platelets again, apparently my blood contains a plethora of platelets so I was able to donate a 'double'
Since i am not supposed to do strenuous things for a while after that i ended up just going to the gym with the kiddo and jogging for 20 minutes, figuring if i got to tired or lightheaded, at least i wouldn't be passing out on the side of the road somewhere ;)
So, i did 1.48 miles in 22 minutes.

Phew...
Running is hard work..
So today i tried run 2 walk 1 again and managed to pull off most of the running, it was a slow jog kind of run with a few slowdowns, but still the most steady running i have managed so far. and it wasn't killing me, i just took my time. I saw a deer while running today which was pretty Dam cool. kind of funny when you think of the massive amounts of houses around here to think that somehow a wild aminal is living in the midst of it all.
So tomorrow is a walk day, although on yesterdays walk day, i played a half hour of DDR instead of walking, which in the long run was much more fun :) so i may try that again instead
so far so good :)
I am shooting for a 5k in Julian in early November, hopefully we can throw in some fall foliage at the same time.
So... it is Monday again
I got back from my folks house Tuesday and seem to have caught a cold or something, i felt miserable all week. finally feeling better today so i did go out for a run this evening. I did run 2/walk 1 and did almost 2.5 miles.
Another day down...
today i managed 2.55 miles in 41 minutes, not to shabby and every days gets a little easier. tomorrow is a walk day the friday i will run in the evening at my folks house . i may not blog until i get back next week, but i do plan to keep up the running
What? Monday again already
Well, today was run 2 / walk 1.. you would think that is vastly different than run 1 / walk 2, but OH LET ME TELL YOU it is :)
I did 2.57 miles in 40 minutes and my legs are on FIRE.
I didn't even actually manage to run the whole 2 minutes a few times. I know I am doing better than when i first started this crazy idea, but today really put me in my place.
Tomorrow is a walk 30 minutes day so i will probably just take Spot for a nice walk at lunch time. This weekend I am heading to Missouri to see family. My uncle is quite ill so I am going to spend some time with him. I should be able to run there no problem so i shouldn't fall behind in my program. if nothing else i can walk every day while i am there, i am sure my mom and/or sisters would be happy to accompany me.
Phew!
Well, today i did a run 1 walk 2... i walked quite a bit at the end to cool down cause it was hot out. in the end i completed 3 miles in 47 minutes. (30 of that was the actual r1/w2 portion) feel tired, but good after that workout. tomorrow is a day off and then monday i move up to run 2 walk 1 and then progess slowly over the next few months until i am running steady for 30 minutes. That seems a VERY long way away :)
Rest Day!
Since yesterday was a rest day but i ran instead today i took the 30 min. walk I was supposed to have taken yesterday. just a nice slow walk with the dog. my legs are a little sore today, but noting like they were right after my run today, thank goodness. tomorrow will be another run1/walk 2 day. and then Sunday will be a true rest day no walking even.
